With StreetImage API, you can embed the street image in your own web pages and redesign the interface for end-users. You must have a StreetImage 2.0 Account and then use your account to get a StreetImage API key. The StreetImage API key you request is valid for a single domain or directory.

StreetImage 2.0 API Policy and Terms of Use (beta version)

1. Acceptance of Terms

StreetImage 2.0 is a Website providing Web 2.0 services (“the Services”) built by the Industrial Technology Research Institute of Taiwan (“ITRI”). By accessing and using StreetImage 2.0 API Services, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of the StreeImage 2.0 API Policy and Terms of Use. The Website owner reserves the right to post and modify the “API Policy and Terms of Use” contents, and we suggest that you check our Website from time to time for any changes or modifications. By continuing to use the Services, you acknowledge and agree to the changes or modifications made in our policy. Please immediately stop using the Services if you do not agree to the “API Policy and Terms of Use” contents. Moreover, any user under the legal age (20 years old) should be accompanied by his/her parent (or legal guardian) to peruse, understand and accept the terms set forth in the “API Policy and Terms of Use” and the changes and modifications made thereafter before the user may use or continue to use this Website service. By using or continuing to use the Website, you acknowledge that your parent (or legal guardian) have read and agreed to the contents of the “API Policy and Terms of Use” and its changes and modifications made thereafter.

2. Member Registration Obligations:

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information about yourself as prompted by the Website member registration form.
You agree to maintain and update your registration data to keep it accurate, latest and complete. In the event that you provide any false or inaccurate information, the Website owner is entitled to suspend or terminate your account and refuse any further use of the Services.
After completing your registration process, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the password and account. You agree to immediately notify the Website of any unauthorized use of your password or account, or any other breach of security.
You agree to ensure that you exit from your account at the end of each session to prevent any unauthorized use of your password or account.

3. Internet Safety for Children and Teens

Children and teens may chance upon indecent or otherwise unsuitable material on the Internet, in particular images of violence and pornography. To ensure protection of Internet safety for children and teens, their parents (or legal guardian) should assume the following obligations:

Surf the Internet with your child. Check to see whether each Website has a set of privacy policy for protecting personal information before giving out any personal information.
Determine with care whether the content of a Website is suitable for your child. Parents should browse the Internet with their child under 12 years of age, and determine whether to give consent to their child to surf the Internet if the child is above 12 but under 18 years old.

4. User’s Conduct and Obligations

You agree to access and use the StreetImage 2.0 API in legal and responsible manner, and promise to abide by the R.O.C. laws and regulations governing the Internet use as well as the international practices pertaining to the use of the world wide web. You further agree not to make use of the API Services to infringe upon the rights of others or conduct any illegal acts, including but not limited to:

Post or transmit any content, including text, images or files in any format, that are defamatory, harassing, threatening, abusive, vulgar, obscene, libelous, damaging to public order or otherwise objectionable
Post or transmit any content that infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, intellectual property, privacy or other proprietary rights of any party
Breach any legal or contractual obligations of confidentiality
Forge identity of another person to access or use the Services
Transmit or spread computer virus
Conduct illegal trade deals or post any information that is untrue or may induce unlawful action
Sell pirated software or contrabands
Disseminate spam mail
Any other behavior or conduct that the Website owner, on reasonable grounds, finds inappropriate for the Website

5. Change and Termination of the Services:

The Website owner reserves the right to change or terminate the API Services, or terminate the API Services to any one account without prior notice. The termination of the API Services herein provided shall be subject to the sole discretion of the Website, and the Website shall assume no responsibility to the user or any third party.
You understand and accept that the API service may from time to time encounter technical problems or temporary suspension of its services that could lead to inconveniences, information loss, errors, unauthorized data alteration, or financial loss, and that you should take preventive measures. The Website takes no responsibility or liability for any damage incurred by suspension of the API Services, unless severe damage is proven to be a direct result of our service failure or intentional act.

6. Software or Data Download

The Website assumes no responsibility for any software or data downloaded from the API Services or through other resources linked to the Website. You are solely responsible for determining the compatibility, effectiveness, accuracy, completeness of the software or data before downloading, and whether it could infringe on the rights of others or incur damages (e.g. computer system damage, loss of saved data). The Website bears no responsibility for any damage incurred by any download of such material.

7. Exclusion of Warranties

You understand and agree that:

It is within your discretion and at your own risk to download or obtain any material through the API service. In case of any damage to your computer system or data loss as a result of such downloading, you should be held solely liable for it.
Any advice or information, regardless of whether it is oral or written, obtained by you from the API Services shall not constitute a warranty of the API Services.

8. Discussion API Forum Service:

You agree to comply with the “discussion forum guidelines” of the Website when participating in the discussion forum. We reserve the right to remove any post breaking these guidelines, and you should assume full legal responsibility and liability for your posts. In the event of any third-party legal action or claim made against the Website, or any administrative action of the competent authorities against the Website, you should held fully liable for any damage, including but not limited to legal costs, of the Website.

9. Intellectual Property

The copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret, other intellectual properties, ownership and other proprietary rights of SteetImage 2.0 API, including, but not limited to the writings and information, shall belong to the Industrial Technology Research Institute, Taiwan. With the exception of the API example code provided in the Website, any person who uses, alters, reproduces, publicly transmits, disseminates, publishes, publicly releases, or stores and retrieves the Services in whole or in part for any purposes in any format without the prior express written consent of the Industrial Technology Research Institute shall be held liable for the legal responsibilities and any compensation to the ITRI for any loss therein incurred. Any person who intends to use, download, or store and retrieve the aforementioned software, program or Website contents should obtain the prior express written consent of the Website owner or other right holders according to the laws and regulations.
The intellectual property rights of all information design pattern, function and programming in the API service shall belong to the ITRI. Users should not reproduce, reverse engineering, de-compile, or disassemble any function or programming of the software without proper authorization of ITRI. API Services requiring member qualification are only accessible to the Website registered members by means of API key, and unauthorized users who attempt to access the StreetImage 2.0 through other means should take all legal responsibilities.

10. User Content Authorization:

You understand and agree that any material that you submit, post, publish, or display on or through the API service shall not violate the copyright laws nor contain illegal contents, and you should be held liable for any infringement on the rights of any other party. The Website owner should assume no guarantee and compensation liabilities. Furthermore, you should be held accountable for any loss or damage suffered by the Website owner. The Website owner is entitled to revoke, remove any illegal contents and terminate access and use of your account.
You agree to grant a perpetual, royalty-free, irrevocable authorization to the Website owner to use the materials that you submit, post, publish or display through the API service, and you further agree that the Website owner is entitled to or may authorize any other third party to copy, reproduce, edit, disseminate or publicly display said materials or use the materials in other manner as the Website owner deems appropriate.

11. API Terms of Use:

Your service with the functionalities provided by the StreetImage 2.0 API must be freely accessible to end users.
There is no limitation on the number of page views your service may request per day using the StreetImage 2.0 API. However, if your service expects more than 50,000 page views per day, please contact us ahead, so we can supply additional capacity to handle your traffic.
You may not modify or shade the logos or content in the Street Image and the position from the GPS log.
You must disclose whether your application or service is using a sensor, e.g. GPS device or Wi-Fi locator to verify the user’s location.
You may use the StreetImage 2.0 API in websites or in software applications. For websites, please sign up with the URL where your implementation can be found. For other software applications, please contact us with the URL of the page where your application can be downloaded.
StreetImage 2.0 will upgrade the API periodically, and you must update API to use the new versions for your website. The StreetImage 2.0 team will notify you of updates on the StreetImage 2.0 Group.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction:

You understand and agree that the interpretation and application of the StreetImage 2.0 API Policy and Terms of Use and other matters not included in the API Policy and Terms of Use shall be governed by the laws and regulations of the Republic of China. You further agree that any dispute arising from the Services should be subject to the jurisdiction of the Hsinchu District Court, Taiwan as the court of first instance.
